The most important thing to do?

Posted on March 25, 2013 0

We are often asked about what is the most important thing to do for your health, especially when you have a chronic condition such as stroke or Parkinsons.  Exercise is the answer!  Part of this is stretching.  Maintaining flexibility is critical for maintaining normal alignment – or restoring if problems have already occurred.  If a tight muscle is preventing someone from having a full range of motion, there will be compensatory movements.  These can lead to long term problems, like back pain.  Stretching daily is as important as flossing your teeth!

Exercise helps with blood flow and oxygen to the brain.  This leads to improved brain functioning, cognitive functioning, learning and memory, as well as increases in energy levels.

The message here is stretch and move your body in anyway you can!  If you need help in learning what’s the best things for you to do, give us a call.  We can help.
